Coastal Soapstone Promenade

by Sapphire, Sunstone & Aquamarine

1.

about

On the coolen, summer seas
Brings upon a tide like these
Coastal Conches, though they ride
Through the barrels of waves on high
There was a mermaid, fair as day
On her lips and tongue she say:
"My city's sinking, just as fish - yet upon my final wish,
I carve my kingdom, dead in stone, from the valleys to the throne
For those to find, for future swim
Let us all bring tides for him.

My first time recording with the erase-head removal technique, (best explained in this video: youtu.be/shyGIwfPN5Q) in which you remove the part of your tape-recorder that erases previous sounds when you record over them, allowing you to layer music over the course of a tape, at the expense of not being able to hear the layers as you play, and not being able to erase any mistakes ♥ ☺ I had a lot of fun with this project and I'm so glad to have found a facet of music I truly enjoy, and I can't wait to record more soon! There's a lot more in store x

There are no post-edits made to the album, it is a pure rip of the audio recorded onto tape.

Thank you dearly to David (coconutscoconuts.bandcamp.com) for offering to record a reading of my poem, with such a soothing cadence and vocal confidence it really is a treat ~
